Manager for Adult Eating Disorders Service
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the management team as part of the adult eating disorders service (AEDS) the team are innovative and passionate about the care they offer to their client group and are keen and open to change. We are currently coming to the end of our second year of transformation and would welcome new ideas and conversations for the coming third year. The team consists of a small newly developed medical arm of Psychiatry, and medics. Whilst the FREED and therapy team have colleagues from Psychology, therapists, Dietetics, Occupational therapy, MHWP’s and Peer support workers.
As a team we offer evidence-based treatment/therapy for Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and OSFED both individually face-to-face and virtual and groupwork. We are currently delivering CBT, CAT, MANTRA DBT, DBT-RO along with Guided self-help, and body image groups. In addition, we are now focussing on embedding the 3 newly appointed peer support workers and the 4 MHWP’s into the service and are establishing roles for them among the existing team.
Alongside our clinical work we offer widespread supervision and consultation to wider teams in Cornwall and are enthusiastically involved in research at a local and national level frequently presenting our work at conferences sharing our expertise and knowledge with others.
The Adult Eating disorders team is a county wide team with a base in Truro
We are looking for a team manager who is compassionate in leadership with a strong desire for service development and improvements working collaboratively with an expanding team to ensure that they are fully supported to provide needs led care for our service users.
This role will provide the day to day management for the Adult Eating disorder team and will work closely with the Operational Lead and Professional Leads for Service for Community Transformation, Service development and Quality improvement.
We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.
