The Role

The Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for analysing and interpreting complex data sets and providing insights to inform business decisions. They will also perform traditional business analyst tasks, such as gathering requirements, facilitating workshops, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements.
  • Analyse and interpret complex data sets to identify trends and provide insights.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including requirements, use cases, and functional specifications.
  • Facilitate workshops to gather input from stakeholders and ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
  • Create and maintain data models and perform data mapping to support data integration efforts.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders, and provide updates on risks and issues.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and systems.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst
  • Experience working in a data consultancy or similar environment i.e. external client facing
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience working with large, complex data sets
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels & technical competence
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and solve complex business problems
  • Experience with SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and experience working on Agile projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with data modelling and data mapping
  • Knowledge of data integration techniques and tools
  • Familiarity with data management, data governance and compliance regulations
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Azure
