Job Description :

We are looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic and reliable person to join the warehouse team based in Mitcham as a full-time warehouse operative. Jamb’s Warehouse Operatives are accountable for all goods received to and dispatched from the warehouse in line with company processes.

  • Ensure the prompt and successful processing of all incoming shipments and air freights: offload containers checking against the inbound delivery documentation, ensuring all products are stored in the correct location.
  • Working with the warehouse team to constantly organise and manage the warehouse space to ensure efficient stock and sales handling.
  • Coordinating with all hauliers and carriers to ensure all dispatches are processed accurately and in time, ensuring paperwork and documentation is completed correctly and filed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Updating the relevant sales team and warehouse office of all items dispatched.
  • All damaged, incorrect inbound or outbound items are communicated immediately to the relevant department, with supporting photographs and documentation.
  • Maintenance of tools, equipment and forklifts – ensuring safe working, and the completion of daily, weekly and monthly checks are undertaken. This includes the safe storage of all equipment when not in use.
  • Maintain a clear and safe workspace, ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed and reporting procedures adhered to.

Desired skills, competencies and experience:

  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Relevant previous warehouse operative/forklift driver experience gained within a comparable warehouse environment.
  • Counterbalance and Reach forklift license holder.
  • Confident communicator both verbally and in written communications.
  • Confident in using IT software.
  • Good time management and organisation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a safe and careful manner, ensuring that Health & Safety regulations are followed at all times.
  • Highly organised, ensuring labelling and traceability is maintained to a high standard.
  • Positive attitude with a drive to succeed.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working partnerships and relations in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From £23,400.00 per year
