We’re hiring a Web Development Engineer to join our team

Strictly Education is on a path to transform its digital product sets and maximise efficiencies for our internal teams and customers through the delivery of innovative and integrated digital products.

This role will be pivotal in the support and development of our evolving digital product set. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and enhancing existing and new, websites and applications. The role will be a key part of the entire development lifecycle and work with stakeholders across the business to ensure the products are successfully delivered and continually improved.

As a team we’re committed to modernising our development processes and our personal skillsets, and as part of that, the successful candidate will help shape our move to a more agile development approach. We believe choosing the right tools for the job and delivering valuable working solutions as quickly as possible is key to our success. We’re exploring new tool sets including low/no-code (MS Power Platform), containerisation (Azure containers) and Integrated code and deployment management (Azure DevOps), and 2023 will be a key time for us to embed all the benefits of these new tools to support our development and deployment processes.

What we are looking for:

  • Develop, test, and maintain web-based applications using Classic C# .Net to deadlines

  • Support colleagues to learn and develop new skills and ways of working

  • Actively participate in setting the direction of the team both culturally and technically

  • Come up with creative and innovative solutions and ways of working to satisfy our target market

  • Assist with the setup and configuration of IT resources, including Azure, Linux, and Windows-based servers

  • Provide technical documentation as needed

  • Provide e-mail and chat-based technical support for staff

  • Attend all regular team and company meetings, both virtual and face to face in SE Offices

    Skills required:

    You should have at least 2-3 years of solid web development experience using:

  • .Net

  • AJAX

  • JavaScript

  • XML

  • HTML

  • CSS

  • Aware of security vulnerabilities

  • Aware of Accessibility issues and W3C compliance

  • Aware of cross-browser compatibility issues

    Any experience with the following would be highly advantageous:

  • MS SQL

  • SOAP and RESTful APIs

  • The ability to hand code

  • Any experience with Azure DevOps

  • The Microsoft Power Platform

  • Working with containers and container orchestration solutions

Candidates must be prepared to attend the Milton Keynes Office when needed and be remote based the remainder of the time.
