Fair Access are recruiting a full time (37 hrs a week) Education Programme Coordinator – Wellbeing, due to expansion of the overall Education Programme tuition service.
The Education Programme is an interim service providing bespoke tuition packages to Children and Young People (CYP) in Key Stages 1-4. These CYP are without a school place due to exclusions; or will have Special Educational Needs (SEND) and an EHC Plan, who are awaiting a place at a named specialist provision. The Children & Young People accessing the programme require one to one support in preparation for accessing identified onward education provision.
You will co-ordinate the education wellbeing provision for Children & Young People (CYP) referred to the Education Programme and be the designated expert within the programme for Social and Emotional Wellbeing.
You will oversee the delivery of bespoke packages of education which include content to include strategies that focus on mental health and wellbeing, addressing the barriers that prevent CYP from accessing learning, thus creating a positive pathway back to more formal education
The role includes supervision of a team of Tutors, Wellbeing Support Officers and an Administration Assistant monitoring and reviewing staff performance and ensuring that the needs of the CYP referred to them on the programme are met.
The post holder will be a qualified and experienced teaching practitioner with experience of supporting different subscales of Emotional Wellbeing and applying these to teaching in a classroom environment. Will evidence experience of leading innovations and applying strategies to build these into all aspects of the packages of the education wellbeing offer, including applying the concept to the professional development of the team.
Whilst you will be contractually based in Maidstone, at present, there is the flexibility to complete the role as work from home or from a local KCC building.
You will be a passionate individual, experienced in delivering positive outcomes, who can support children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. We are seeking candidates who are motivated, reliable, empathetic, and keen to rise to the challenges of supporting and championing vulnerable learners.
You will require excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage challenging situations, and the ability to communicate clearly and successfully both verbally and on written records and reports.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
As part of the interview process for this role you will be required to complete assessment/group tasks virtually.
