The Bottled Baking Co is a small business in Leeds, LS10 1NZ. We are customer-centric, creative, fast-paced, and our goal is to About The Bottled Baking Co: We are a small family run business, manufacturing and selling beautiful hand made baking kits and gifts that are layered in reusable glass bottles to consumers and retail partners across the UK and internationally. We also offer a white label service to larger retailers such as Marks & Spencer. Everything we do is focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience: from our products & packaging, to the quality of our ingredients through to our communication style. We aren’t just an evolving and fast growing business, we building a community: our customers, our team, and our suppliers are at the heart of what we do. As we approach our seven year anniversary, we are embarking on the next phase of our journey. Working with our production partner and also growing our in house production capabilities in Leeds. With plans to introduce new products, expand in to brand new markets and categories and to continue to grow in the UK and with the many international opportunities that have been presented to us, now is an exciting time to join the team!.

Brief overview

The Bottled Baking Co are looking for an experienced, energetic and proactive Head of Business Development who will be responsible for opening doors, winning new opportunities, reaching out to new customers and building great relationships with existing ones.

This is a senior role, and you will report directly to our Founder.

Our vision and strategy are set on growth and the Head of Business Development role is pivotal in achieving our objectives.

Anyone who has worked in a small business knows that roles are varied, ever-evolving and require a flexible approach to getting the job done. Specific areas of responsibility

You will work within our skilled and dedicated management team, with specific duties and responsibilities, including:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
  • Contributing to the overall sales strategy
  • Managing and nurturing existing wholesale customer relationships
  • Upselling products to existing wholesale customers
  • Pitching to retailers
  • Managing our ‘hit list’
  • Implementing, updating and managing a new CRM system
  • Attending Trade Shows to meet new retailers and drive sales with existing customers
  • Relationship building with distributors and retailers
  • Co-ordinating and motivating the team to make sales calls
  • Account management
  • Identifying opportunities to encourage repeat sales
  • Re-engaging lapsed retailers
  • Co-owning our D2C channels with our founder and growing the opportunities available through D2C channels
  • Working closely with our Operations Manager to manage the link between production and sales requirements
  • Identifying and driving contract packing opportunities
  • Working with our marketing team to build the content and ideas and wholesale email campaigns
  • Creating bespoke product offerings for specific customers, including corporate gifting
  • International sales - UAE, USA and Europe specifically
  • Engaging with new product development activities
  • Partnerships – Working with our existing licence partner Aardman and future licensees
  • Building charity partnerships

Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
