Job Introduction

We’re looking for people who are passionate about working with others and who have a natural talent for connecting with colleagues. If that’s you and you’d love to learn how Human Resources, Recruitment and Workforce Planning, along with all other HR-related functions work in a creative media organisation, then the Level 3 HR Support apprenticeship at the BBC is the next step you need into your future career.

This apprenticeship is designed to help equip learners with the ability and experience to work successfully in a role, or prepare you for the next step, in an HR environment.

  • Duration: 18 Months
  • Salary: £19,500
  • Locations: 5 roles based in Birmingham
  • Typically leading to: Permanent role as HR Advisor or Talent Acquisition Advisor
Main Responsibilities

Our placements for September 2023 start in the BBC’s HR Service Centre in Birmingham.

Every day, the BBC Birmingham HR Service Centre provides help and support to over 20,000 people on a vast range of work-related queries and concerns.

Understanding and addressing colleague needs; asking questions to establish where there may be issues to be addressed; being passionate about making a difference to an individual’s experience of the workplace, are all key attributes for working in one of our HR teams.

You’ll support staff from across the BBC’s TV, radio, online, corporate, sales, marketing and technology teams. You may also provide guidance and assistance to external visitors and prospective employees.

You will ensure that colleagues are supported through effective query handling and problem solving and you will develop a high level of process understanding and ability to deliver administrative support.

A love of working in a fast-paced, energetic environment also helps!

Alongside your on-the-job experience, you’ll study for your HR Support L3 apprenticeship qualification.

Who we're looking for:

  • You must be aged 18 or over when the course starts in September 2023
  • You must not already have a L3 or higher qualification in HR & Resourcing
  • You must be legally allowed to work in the UK
  • Have lived in the UK, Ireland or the European Economic Area (EEA), for at least three years before the start of the apprenticeship.
