As lead data scientist, it is expected that you will teach your team new tricks from a scientific perspective as well as way of working. • Work with a team of data scientists and analysts to design and execute experiments and analyze data, to draw causal inferences and discover insights about user behaviour
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify opportunities for experimentation and causal inference, and to support the implementation of data-driven insights
  • Define and implement success metrics in close collaboration with product managers, engineers, country managers, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Communicate complex data-driven insights to stakeholders across the company, including senior leadership and other teams, visually and verbally
  • Evangelize the importance of experimentation and causal inference throughout the company, building buy-in and support for data-driven decision making
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in experimentation and causal inference, and identify opportunities apply these techniques to business challenges
  • Continuously improve the causal inference process, including the development of new best practices, tools and techniques to enhance the speed and accuracy

  • Ability to explain statistical concepts and guide decision makers across all levels on the interpretation of results
  • Experience with the design and analysis of experiments (A/B tests, RCTs, cluster RCTs, etc)
  • Experience with causal inference methods applied to experimental or observational data, such as difference in difference, matching, regression discontinuity designs, instrumental variables, including an understanding of different treatment effects
  • Ability to develop confidently in Python and SQL (Google BigQuery) with a good command of software development best practices or the willingness to learn
  • Experience with data visualisation (Tableau, DataStudio)
