Job Description :

We are looking for an occupational therapist who would like to continue to develop their clinical and leadership skills by joining our well established rotation here at North Manchester General Hospital.

The speciality areas on the rotation include medicine, surgery, AMU/ frailty, and trauma orthopaedics so you experience a broad range of acute specialities. Previous acute experience is an advantage but community and intermediate care experience would also be relevant and beneficial in the role as we work within the discharge to assess model, and we are able to help you to develop your assessment and intervention skills in this fast paced and exciting environment. Each rotation is 9 months.

We offer a thorough induction and competencies, with a wide range of support and development opportunities available, including regular supervision and inservice training. We would be happy to consider applications from existing band 6 OTs looking for a new challenge, or a band 5 looking to take a step up. You will be expected to participate in service development where you are offered opportunities to follow interests relevant to the wider team such as being a manual handling trainer, or influencing clinical pathways such as cognition or falls.

Applicants should be prepared to participate in a 7 day working service.

You should be enthusiastic, motivated, dynamic and a team player. You will carry a caseload of complex and varied patients within each speciality, as well as supervising more junior staff and participating in student training and delegating for your team lead when needed.

This is the ideal opportunity for anyone wishing to develop their clinical and leadership skills whilst being able to contribute to clinical effectiveness within the Trust. The department is committed to CPD and moving the governments initiatives forward.

We would welcome contact on the details below if anyone would like to discuss the role.
