What we are looking for:

An opportunity has opened up within the Genesis Electrical delivery group for those seeking to further their career development within our Project and Discipline Engineering Delivery Team.

The role is open to those early in their engineering career looking to expand their knowledge and expertise across a number of key markets. They would become a key member of the Electrical delivery group supporting the existing team and lead engineer to deliver Electrical input to early phase multi-discipline consultancy studies.

In addition to multi-discipline study input there will be opportunities to develop further skills in Electrical focussed studies as well as supporting Genesis, further developing understanding of Electrical considerations for our ever growing Energy Transition related studies.

The position requires a forward thinking engineer who is happy take on new challenges with the support of the discipline lead to develop and challenge Electrical concepts working with the latest technology.

In return, the position will provide the opportunity to join a successful and dynamic team and will present significant opportunities for professional and personal growth, working in Hydrogen Generation, Carbon Capture, Energy Transition, lower carbon energy delivery as well as traditional oil and gas related work.

Genesis globally is managed within core services lines (Early Advisory Solutions, Development Solutions and Asset Lifecycle Solutions) and key markets (Low Carbon, CO2 Management & Renewables and Upstream & Downstream Oil & Gas). The Genesis UK Operating Centre (with offices in Aberdeen and London) is organised into 8 core delivery teams. In this role you would join the Project and Discipline Engineering Delivery Team. This team, in supporting Genesis global delivery of advisory services, currently comprises circa 50+; engineers, project engineers and study managers, managed in six core delivery groups comprising; Project Engineering / Piping & Layouts, Mechanical and Construction / Electrical / Control, Instrumentation & Telecommunications / Structural, Civil and Marine / Decommissioning .

This role is to join, and become a core staff member of the Electrical delivery group.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to become an integral part of ultra front-end project delivery, targeting value add contributions to support robust early-phase key project decision making. This will be across a broad and diverse range of studies for our extensive client base. You will also be given the opportunity to develop and broaden your experience and competence in the delivery of multi-discipline advisory services.

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Participate in Electrical discipline activities including preparation and checking of documents, philosophies, specifications, procedures, standards, data sheets, calculations, MTO etc.;
  • Contribute to front-end multi-discipline engineering studies, providing key Electrical input;
  • Brownfield cost estimation for Electrical activities;
  • Carry out varied electrical simulation studies;
  • Participating in safety studies (HAZID, ENVID, SAFOP, etc.);
  • Ensure Electrical discipline design is performed in compliance with project requirements and satisfies all relevant safety and quality standards;

We believe you will have:

  • Degree Qualified in relevant engineering subject;
  • Previous experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer.
  • Previous experience working in Concept Engineering (Front End / FEED);
  • Working knowledge and experience of power generation (Conventional and renewable), transmission, distribution, energy storage and power conditioning systems;
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status;
  • Experience in Energy Transition and/or low carbon energy delivery;
  • Oil and Gas Experience;
  • Experience in using ETAP for performing electrical system studies;
  • Current offshore survival and medical certificates.
