The role:

Southwark Council’s Environment and Leisure Department is recruiting two new Project Managers.

This role will be responsible for leading a range of projects in the department across all our business areas including environmental services, culture, leisure, parks, climate change, community safetyand community engagement.

You will have a varied portfolio of work, delivering with teams who need expert project management support to improve their services. You will also be part of a core team working on somekey corporate programmes such as Southwark Stands Together, our work to tackle racism and injustice.

You will lead projects as part of our ambitious departmental change programme to ensure the department is fit for the future and best able to deliver the wide range of services which our residents value. You will manage service reviews and service improvement programmes across the department and support areas such as organisational transformation and staff wellbeing.

About you:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about good project management and has the skills and experience to use a range of project management techniques across a broad portfolio of work.

You will be a natural collaborator, working with colleagues to deliver change. Through your career you will have shown how you can have real impact using both tried and tested methods, but also willing to innovate to get the best results.
