It’s an exciting time to join Gearset! In the last few years we’ve rocketed from a 7 person start-up to over 180 people, and we have no intention of slowing down. As a product-driven company founded by engineers, we know the value of a great engineering culture, and we’re looking for experienced developers to join a team built from the ground up on trust, teamwork and tight feedback loops.
You’ll work from day one on making thousands of businesses around the world more effective. Working closely with users, the features you build will help the millions of people developing on Salesforce apply DevOps best practices to their development and release process.
What’s the opportunity?
Our engineering team is driven by a genuine desire to make the lives of our customers easier, and we do that by helping each other deliver consistently outstanding work. We’re confident in our product, and we have big plans for the future. We’re aiming to double our engineering team (again!) to allow us to execute on our vision even faster.
Our small teams get responsibility for a company goal, not building specific features. You’ll have the opportunity to impact what we build, as well as how we build it.
A great team can only do its best work with context and feedback - there’s no substitute for talking directly with the people impacted by our work. Engineers work across the business and talk directly to customers and partners.
Our tech stack includes a mix of cutting-edge and proven technologies, such as C#, React, Typescript, Postgres, AWS and Docker. You’ll become familiar with our pragmatically chosen stack, but you’ll also help us define what great looks like.
We release Gearset multiple times a day and can roll back any release instantly if we find an issue. We continually invest in our process and infrastructure, and that enables us to build tight feedback loops, fix problems immediately, and delight our users.
We don't do pointless meetings. We only add process when it helps us get things done.
Note that you must be based in the UK for this role.
About the engineering team
Our engineering values centre on collaboration, ownership, and velocity. Some of us work from our Cambridge and Belfast offices, some of us are fully remote and others are somewhere in between. Only some of us studied computer science; some of us have only ever worked at startups; some have worked at huge companies; some are former consultants and some are former chemists. Whatever your background, if what we have going sounds interesting then we’d love to hear from you.
About the company
Gearset is the leading DevOps solutions for the millions of people developing on Salesforce, the world's biggest CRM. We have the fast paced exciting environment of a start-up, with the success, stability, and ambition of a scale up.
In a few short years, we’ve rocketed from a 7 person start-up to over 180 people, and have become the DevOps solution of choice for some of the world’s biggest companies, including IBM, McKesson, and even Salesforce themselves. In the last 18 months we’ve opened offices in Belfast and Chicago, alongside our Cambridge (UK) HQ.
We’re proud of what we’ve built and how we’ve built it. We work as a team, where attributes of trust, openness and honesty are key, as they allow us to have a feedback-driven culture that keeps us improving to deliver the best solution for our customers.
Alongside our Glassdoor score of 4.8/5, and customer G2 scores of 4.7/5, we recently gained $55 million in funding, and received three awards from Best Companies UK in 2022. This includes the Best Company to work for in the East of England, UK Top 5 Best Mid-sized Company and Top 3 Best Technology Company to work for in the whole of the UK.
