dmg ventures is a leading venture capital investor in early stage, consumer (B2C) technology start-ups. We are partnered with the UK's #1 media group, DMGT (owner of titles such as MailOnline, Daily Mail, Metro and i), which reaches 35m UK and 130m non-UK adults every month. We leverage our sector expertise, as well as the expertise and consumer reach of DMGT, to identify, select and accelerate incredible consumer technology start-ups.
We have backed the likes of Cazoo, Zoopla, Zilch, Papier and Urban Legend, and are actively looking for new investment opportunities. Our investments are in the form of a mixture of cash and media-for-equity, where we give companies heavily discounted media budgets to spend with DMGT, in lieu of cash. https://www.dmgventures.co.uk/
Role summary
dmg ventures is looking for a 2023 Summer intern to support the investment team with various activities.
Key responsibilities
The intern will be assigned various strategic projects and day-to-day responsibilities, which could include:
- Researching consumer technology trends (e.g., fintech, circular economy)
- Initial screening of target companies, and supporting with further due diligence
- Supporting with content creation
- Optimising our media-for-equity programme, and benchmarking the programme against peers
We will also endeavour to expose the intern to all areas of our work, such as sourcing companies (including networking with other investors), making investments and supporting portfolio companies.
What we are looking for
- Seeking candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds
- Student pursing their Bachelors Degree, Masters or MBA, but no requirement for finance-related course
- Demonstrable interest in consumer-facing products & services, technology, and start-ups
- Experience in venture capital a plus but not required!
Internship details

Internship duration: any 4- to 8-week period between July and September 2023
Internship location: High Street Kensington, London, with some work from home flexibility
