Trainee Information Security Analyst

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join NFU Mutual’s Information Security team as a Information Security Analyst. By joining our team you’ll be contributing to our business success by protecting NFU Mutual from all types of risk including cyber-attacks, IT failures and supplier risks. As part of a committed team, you’ll enjoy working in a supportive atmosphere where people work closely together, sharing knowledge and expertise and challenge accepted thinking.


You’ll spend time in each of these risk areas - each focusing on different aspects of our work, giving you a holistic view of DISC, including:


  • Information Security & IT risk management

  • Cyber response, Incident Management & Disaster Recovery

  • Supplier and Change Assurance


You’ll be supported with amazing in role development to achieve your IT, Resilience and Security Qualifications (e.g., SSCP, CRISC, CompTIA Security+) and will gain hands on experience to develop your technical skills, as well as developing your personal and leadership skills.


You’ll also:


  • Develop an understanding of how the business operates,

  • Build a thorough knowledge of our business risk environment and the controls used to mitigate those risks,

  • Develop relationship management skills, through managing multiple stakeholders from a range of different business areas, and

  • Help your stakeholders improve their risk and control framework.


The role is based at our Lakehouse office in Stratford-Upon-Avon. We understand how important a positive work-life balance is to you, so we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment, and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.

About you

A highly motivated individual, you’ll have the following qualities:


  • Strong communications skills

  • Ability to quickly build rapport with stakeholders at all levels

  • Knowledge or interest in data protection, information security or business continuity

  • Organised and self-sufficient to manage your day

  • Strong experience of Microsoft Office applications

  • Attention to detail
